What is it?

Shooting a scene in just 50 minutes – that was the challenge of this project.
I study Film at Salzburg University of Applied Sciences, and our professor gave us only two pages of dialogue – nothing more (see below). No backstory, no location, nothing.
After several days of preparation, each of us had 50 minutes to brief the actors and complete the shoot. It was an intense but very fun project.
I decided to interpret the scene as a thriller, where time is running out for the main protagonist, Ulli – without him knowing it.

Brief Summary of my Backstory:
Ulli and Kim work for the same ruthless, unscrupulous company, which doesn’t shy away from using violence to achieve its goals. Kim – driven by the desire for recognition – is a high-ranking figure in the company and goes along with everything without hesitation.
However, she falls in love with Ulli, an employee in the marketing department.
Over time, Ulli learns about the company’s shady business practices and decides to take them down. He steals crucial data from the executives' offices to expose the company. Kim finds out and tries to stop him.
This is where the scene begins.

What went well?

The 50-minute shooting time was a lot of fun – even though it was stressful.
Overall, I’m very happy with the final result.

What could be improved?

The pre-production was chaotic. Better communication with my own team is needed.
Unfortunately, the actress in my scene had a minor accident and injured her finger during filming, but despite that, everyone involved gave their best to get the shoot done.
Big thanks for that.
